What is COVID-19?
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It causes mild to moderate respiratory illness in most people. However, in some cases can become seriously ill and require medical attention. Older individuals and those with underlying medical conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, or cancer are more likely to develop serious illness from COVID-19.
COVID-19 is considered a newer medical condition, and doctors and researches around the world are conducting research and studies to understand it better.
